You don’t have the luxury of making circumstantial decisions.

Do you make decisions based upon your desires? Or do you make decisions based upon your circumstances?

The awareness I’m about to share with you could be the one idea that changes your life forever. This is one of the most powerful insights you will ever get because it has worked like magic for me.

Most people make decisions based upon their circumstances. What does this mean? It means they make decisions based upon current or past experiences. They let how much money they have determine if they will buy something, how much time they have determine if they will commit to going after a goal, how much education they have decide if they can go to the next level, they let what their friends are doing guide their own action, and they let family opinions dictate their ability.

If you’ve never thought deeply about your decision making before, you might say these are valid and logical ways to make decisions.

But there’s one big problem with making decisions based upon your past or current circumstances.

The problem is you will never realise your own potential and dreams.

Think about it, the logic that’s gotten you to where you are, is not able to take you any further. If it could, then you’d already be further on!

If you continue to make decisions based upon what you have right now, you will never have any more than you’ve got right now!

So what will allow you to live out your dreams and realise your potential?

Making decisions based upon your desires.

What does this mean?

It means being aware of what you really desire to be, to do and to have and making your decisions entirely on what you want. You can always have what you want so long as everybody else benefits.

Decision is the starting point of all change; it is not the end point.

The end point might be for you to have the money, to have the time, to have the confidence, but you don’t have the luxury of these things right now. So, you must start by making the decision to attain them!

You need to make decisions in line with your desires, not your circumstances. That is all.

Don’t get mixed up between making a decision and planning how to achieve it. They are two very different activities.

One decides the objective or the finish line. The other structures ideas in a coherent way that allows you to take action-steps to achieve the objective.

If you need to invest time and money in yourself to go to the next level, but you can’t see where the time and money will come from and fear is stopping you from making the decision, your life is not going anywhere. This is the cruel reality.

If you try to look for evidence in your current circumstances as to how you can do it, you will not find it. Remember, you don’t have to know how you are going to get there. Actually, the fun is in finding out how you are going to get there.

We should never be afraid of a challenge, and we should always look to challenge ourselves. Challenging your thinking and your beliefs is the path to change, and if you want to change your life, then you’ve got to change!

Some people want changes in their circumstances but are not willing to change themselves. Einstein said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

What you need to make decisions based upon your desires is will. The will to do it. You have the same ability to succeed as Elon Musk, Warren Buffet, Ray Dalio, Steve Jobs, or whoever it is you really admire because you are human too. They just weren’t afraid to set the bar high and go for it, and neither should you be!

Remember the results you want are not the results you have. The results you want are the results you don’t have!

Think about it, if you want more how can you make decisions based upon your lack at the moment? It doesn’t even make sense!

I don’t tolerate indecision; indecision is a ghost town filled with the dreams of those that never made the decision. Napoleon Hill surveyed 25,000 men and women who had experienced failure and put indecision near the top of the 30 major causes of failure and called it a FACT!

If you want the best, you must make the decision to be the best. That’s the only way to attract it. You must feel like the person who has already achieved what you desire. Feeling is the secret. This is not faking it until you make it; this is being it until you see it.

But not allowing yourself your own desires, that’s fake. That’s a fake life.

So always, always, always commit to decisions based upon your desires, not your circumstances.

If this resonates with you, please comment below, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

All the best,

John
