As a Mindset Coach, I speak to people every day who have huge opportunity to dramatically change their life. Why? Because they aren’t yet working with a purpose.
No matter if you’re working for somebody else as an employee, self-employed, or running your own business, it has to be purposeful.
If it’s not fulfilling, then the alternative is to waste most weeks just paying the bills and living for the weekend. It is a mediocre life that allows you to survive. But you’re not really living, just existing.
To get enthusiastic about something brings more life to you and what you’re doing, but it’s hard to get enthusiastic about a dull and boring career or business.
You might think, “that’s OK or some people to go and discover what they’d love to do, but I have to put food on the table. I don’t have the time or money to start something new.”
But that’s not true.
The only thing you need to start is a desire to start, and desire can be built.
It’s that old adage, find something you love to do and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.
Have you found something you love yet? If not, are you seeking it?
Imagine one day, one of your children who look to you as their role model ask you these questions, and you answered NO to both. How would you feel?
I’d hazard a guess you want the best for them, but what kind of example do you think you would be setting?
I love the idea of fulfilment. I love the idea of waking up early every morning to devote my day to something I love. I love the idea of challenging myself (and my sanity!) to grow more fulfilled each day. And I love having meaning in my life and feel like I’m having a positive impact on others.
If you’re wondering how to create more fulfilment in your career or business, you can start right this minute. You don’t need to buy anything or go searching at the other side of the world for the answers! You can start with this exercise.
Take 15 minutes to think of times in your life when you felt most fulfilled. You’ll remember them when you relax with some deep breathes and bring forth those memories of the past where you felt most alive, and when you were having a massive positive difference on somebody’s life.
What were you doing? Who were you helping? How were you helping them? Describe it and analyse it. What was it about these situations that made them so good?
Maybe it was when you used your initiative to go above and beyond. Maybe it was the sincere appreciation they had for you. Maybe you created something and got amazing feedback from your boss or customers. Maybe it was the type of person you were helping. Whatever it was, know what it was. You’ll discover so much about yourself if you take the time to answer it properly. Spend 15 minutes each day writing down what would make your life more fulfilled.
When you’re living on purpose, your life is fulfilling. When you’re not, your life is empty. This is where the saying money can’t buy happiness comes from. But what if you could you use your money to help you discover your purpose, would you consider this a win-win?
I’d love to talk more about how I can help you discover what makes you fulfilled and create a life of freedom around this.
